First steps¶
Connecting to the system¶
Configuration of the CMTK software is browser-based. In order to connect to the system simply launch a web browser e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft-Edge. An additional installation of software is not necessary.

Open your web browser. There you have the following options: For direct connection via LAN port 1, enter
192.168.10.1
in the address line. For connection via LAN port 2 (integration into existing network infrastructure)*, you reach the system via the IP address assigned by your DHCP server or via http://cmtk. The following dialog appears:

Login with the username
admin
and the initial password given on the type plate of the device. When logging on for the first time, the password is as follows:Username Initial password admin CMTK-adm1n You will be prompted to change the password.
Hint
You may change the password later again in user-management settings, see User Management.

Change the password and click on SAVE.
User interface¶
After successful login, the overview page is displayed.
In the main dashboard the host CMTK device is listed with some additional info on its state and some additional gauges with the current temperature, CPU, memory and storage usage of the device.
CMTK applications¶
In order to install additional applications provided by Balluff, navigate to Settings -> Apps -> Manager on the left side of the dashboard. The App Store will list all optional and some core apps which might be disabled.
Upload additional Balluff CMTK applications by clicking on Install new. This opens a dialog where the appropriate deb file may be selected. Applications are signed so only CMTK applications provided by Balluff may be installed that way. After successful installation the app is listed with its current state and version info.
Optional applications may be:
- removed by clicking the Delete button
- stopped by clicking the Stop button
- updated by clicking the Update button
Some of the core applications which are already preinstalled may be deactivated in case not needed but cannot be removed/uninstalled or updated via the App Manager.
Active applications may add their configuration entries to the settings section or the toolbar.
