Backup and Restore

You can create a backup of the CMTK settings which can be used to restore or duplicate the state.

Create a backup

You will find the backup settings under Settings > Gateway Settings > General

Backup settings

Click on Create backup and download to open the dialog:

Backup and download dialog

Before downloading, you can decide, if the backup should include the network settings. If you intend to duplicate the settings, this can lead to IP conflicts. It is recommended that you don't back up the network settings if you want to transfer the settings to a new device. If you want to restore the settings to the same device, you can back up the network settings.

Warning

Settings of connected sensors won't be backed up.

Note

The BCM Config Assistant has an option to import and export configuration files of the connected BCMs.

Note

All installed optional apps will also be backed up.

Restore Backup

In the settings next to the backup creation, you can also find the backup restoration. Click on Restore from file. Now you can upload the backup file and click on Restore now

Warning

The existing configuration will be overwritten by the backup.

Warning

It's only possible to restore the backup on a device with the same major and minor version.

Information

The device will reboot to restore the backup. Sometimes a refresh is needed after the reboot, because some apps need a little bit more time to start.

Information

Uninstallable apps from the backup are always set to activated in the App Manager. The activation status of the remaining apps is not saved in the backup. Additionally installed apps are not uninstalled after restoration.
