Setup#
Note
For the installation, connection, and commissioning of the hardware, see the Operating Manual. This documentation covers the setup of the software in order to acquire images.
Structure of this section#
This section separates two topics:
- Frontend-independent setup: hardware installation and network preparation.
- ICC-based quick start: connecting with Impact Control Center and generating a first image.
If you use software other than Impact Control Center, these guides still apply since most of it is not client-specific.
Quick start with Impact Control Center#
The fastest way to get the RadarImager running with Impact Control Center is to go through the setup chapters in this order: Hardware installation, Network Configuration, Connect with ICC, and Generate First Image.
The Generate First Image chapter focuses on the most relevant parameters to obtain a first image as quickly as possible. After that, it is still recommended to continue with the configuration chapters to review and optimize the full set of parameters for your application.
In this documentation, you will find detailed instructions on:
- Hardware installation:
- Typical orientations for installing the RadarImager hardware.
- Alignment guidelines for optimal performance.
- Trigger Event and Speed configuration options
- Network Configuration:
- How to set up the IP address.
- How to adjust the MTU size.
- Network prerequisites.
- Connect with ICC:
- How to obtain and install Impact Control Center.
- Overview and description of the main parts of the user interface.
- How to configure the Linux firewall for ICC, if required.
- ICC-specific steps to establish a connection with the RadarImager.
- Initial configuration of Impact Control Center.
- How to set the prefer display names option.
- Generate First Image:
- Configuring measurement parameters.
