Image Result Issues#

Use this page if an image is acquired, but the result is not useful yet. This includes missing objects, cropped objects, wrong layers, poor contrast, mirrored views, blur, shadows, and ghost images.

The object is not visible or is cropped#

Typical symptoms:

  • The image updates, but the object is missing.
  • Only part of the object is visible.
  • The object appears too early or too late in the image.

Check the following measurement parameters first:

Important:

  • Changes to objectLengthX, distanceZToDeepestLayerOfInterest, and reverseObjectMovementDirectionX only take effect after a new measurement.
  • The quick-start strategy in Generate First Image is the fastest way to make the object visible first and optimize later.

The image looks empty, too dark, or shows the wrong layer#

Typical symptoms:

  • The image is almost black.
  • The object is only visible in some layers.
  • The displayed layer does not match the expected depth.

Typical symptoms:

  • The object is visible, but important details are lost.
  • The image is too dark, too bright, or unstable between measurements.

The image is distorted, blurry, or contains ghost images#

Typical symptoms:

  • The object appears stretched or compressed in movement direction.
  • The image contains shadows or multiple object contours.
  • The object shape twists or smears.

Most common causes:

Use this order:

  1. Verify that the correct layer is selected.
  2. Check the movement direction setting.
  3. Recheck the configured object speed.
  4. Inspect the mounting alignment.
